Why the ranking is not for sale
Commission rates in this category are close to identical across brands, so there is no money in steering you toward one mattress over another. What there is money in is being right often enough that you come back — which is why the guides regularly recommend the cheaper option, and why we say when a mattress is not worth buying at any price.
Editorial independence
Rankings come from the five-factor method on our how we rank page. If a product is removed or demoted, it is because the price, construction or durability reports changed — not because of a commercial relationship. Questions about any of this belong on our about page.
